White sauce

White sauce


  • two tablespoons butter

  • two tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • Dash white-colored pepper

  • 1 cup 2% milk


  • In a tiny saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk within the flour, pepper and salt until smooth. Progressively whisk within the milk. Provide a boil prepare and stir for just two minutes or until thickened. Use immediately or refrigerate.


Began having a hot pan, a teaspoon of minced garlic clove from the jar using the butter. It melted fast and sizzled as i stirred. Needed to substitute pepper for white-colored which was ok did not measure salt when i only were built with a course pink ocean salt grinder which was o also added a small small pinch of applied sage. No whisk avail, used a plastic fork, not a problem stirring within the flour, which I needed to measure with large dinner spoons, which was ok. Only had lactose free 1% milk. The end result was GREAT. This recipe is extremely forgiving. Stirred within my freshly cooked pasta when it had been done and also the sauce was the right thickness. The next time, I'd double the amount recipe because it only coated half the pasta I cooked.

Needed to add an ungodly quantity of flour ?? it had been as thick as water.

AMAZING! Tastes wonderful, tried on the extender to create my first dinner! (Dont judge im 14??) added a piece of mozzarella along with a sprinkle (okay way in addition to that i really like that stuff) of crunched up mint. Totally recommend it

Love this because it is the prefect simplest base then after you have this you can include whatever seasonings, cheeses, ect. To flavor it to whatever youre cooking.

I chose to make this white-colored sauce for any potato-pork scallop I simply required from the oven. I bending the recipe also it arrived on the scene smooth and creamy and also the scalloped taters and pork sampled wonderful.

The very best fundamental sauce recipe. That you can do anything by using it, I enjoy add curry and abit of cheese and serve it over veggies! It generally needs abit more salt, though.
